Obituary of Helen Faye Mauch

Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Helen Faye Tye Mauch, 94, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 31, 2024, among family.

Helen was born on September 26, 1929, to Thomas Newton Tye and Daisy Alma Arnett Tye in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She spent part of her childhood in Wewoka, Oklahoma, and Vandalia, Illinois, before her family moved to Sapulpa. She graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1947 and then attended Tulsa Business College.

Helen met her “handsome man” and love of her life, William David Mauch, in 1947. They were married in 1954. On March 19, 2024 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple raised four children, Sharon, David, Ronald and Patricia. She was lovingly known as Mona to her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Aside from her family, the things that brought her joy were gospel music, attending church, shopping, sewing, crocheting, cooking and using her green thumb to grow her many plants. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Sapulpa since 1945.

The family would like to thank everyone who reached out during her recent illness. One common phrase that they heard from everyone was how “sweet” and “precious” she was.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Bobby Marvin Tye, and daughter, Sharon Kay Pettit.
