Ruth Virginia Douglas, 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, answered God's call September 27, 2014. Ruth was born in Shelbyville, IL to Mary Lorena and Elmer Ray Goreham. She had 2 sisters; Anna (Grossman) and Mable (Bellamy). Ruth married Harold Russell Douglas on January 12, 1940 in Miami, FL.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Mary Virginia "Ginnie" Gaschler and her husband Gary; daughter Barbara White and her husband Dennis; son Harold Douglas and his wife Karen; sister Mable Bellamy; sister Anna Grossmann; grandchildren Cheryl Rogers and husband Jeff; Gail Highland; Scott Gaschler and wife Brenda; Gary Drake and wife Tina; Terry Drake and wife Rikki; Dewayne White and wife Hope; Rebecca White; Heather Rexwinkle and husband Tony; Wes Douglas; 20 great-grandchildren, 7 great, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Harold Douglas; her parents Elmer and Mary Goreham; and her son Harold Richard Douglas, in 1952.
Ruth enjoyed sewing and fishing but her greatest blessings and joys were her family. She will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312 / www.greenhillok.com
