Obituary of Cleda Marie Jones

Cleda Marie Jones, devoted wife and loving mother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior September 12, 2014. She was born in Natural Dam, Arkansas on June 20, 1925 to Andrew and Minnie Hopkins. On March 23, 1946 she married the love of her life, Richard Henry Jones, and had two children Rodney and Stanley. Cleda attended Independence School. She later taught Sunday School at the Independence Free Will Baptist Church. She excelled in homemaking and her door was always open. She taught dozens of young ladies to sew, crochet and knit. She sewed many wedding dresses. There was a lifetime of holiday gathering and parties held in her home. She worked tirelessly for Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Cancer Society. Cleda is preceded in death by her parents; son Stanley; sisters Mae and Florence; brothers Ransford, Marion, Andrew, James Argel, Carthell, Arlie, John, Lloyd and Raymond. Cleda is survived by her husband Richard; her son Rodney and wife Martha; granddaughters Cindy of Dallas, Shandy of Dallas and Suzanne of Owasso; grandson Paul of New York City; great grandsons Robert of Dallas, Garrett of Owasso and Timothy of Dallas; sister Tressie of Alma; brother Ray of Tulsa; and many, many nieces nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to be made to Hall Cemetery.
