James Emery Hinman, “Jim,” passed through Heaven’s gates November 23, 2015. He was born in Washington County, Oklahoma December 13, 1936 to E.P. Hinman and Caroline (Carrinder) Hinman. Jim grew up mainly in the Caney, KS area. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 – 1962 and was honorable discharged as a Corporal. He married Patricia Rivett November 10, 1962. He worked as a machinist and retired from TD Williamson. Jim was a cheerful man who shared his smiles with everyone he met. He loved the Lord and enjoyed having fellowship with other Christians. He was a member at the Westside Freewill Baptist Church for the last 2 years. Jim enjoyed traveling with his lovely wife, Pat, and enjoyed camping and fishing. Jim was preceded in death by his parents E.P. and Caroline Hinman; brothers Milford Hinman; and Wilbert Hinman; sisters Frances Scott; and Patsy Hinman; step-grandsons James Stubblefield; and John Hendrix. He is survived by his wife Pat Hinman; daughters Jamie Miles and her husband David; Tammie Hammons; and Debbie Barret and her husband Ray; step-daughters Teresa Stubblefield and her husband Howard; and Cheryl Coats; sister Edith Laughlin; step-sister Pauline Winkler; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and lots of cousins and friends. Jim loved life and he loved people. In return, people loved Jim. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A special thank you from Jim’s family to Carol Grimes at Braums, Sandy, Beverly, Candace and Linda with Saint Francis Hospice and Dr. Costner. Funeral Services are scheduled at 10:30 am Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Westside Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation is Friday from 2 – 8 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home to greet friends from 2 – 4 pm. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
