Obituary of Jack Robinson Smith

Jack Robinson Smith, 77 of Sapulpa went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital, Tulsa Ok. Jack was born on March 18, 1938 in Okmulgee, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. Priscilla Dean (Johnson) Smith, 74 of Sapulpa went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital Tulsa, Ok. Priscilla was born on May 19, 1941 in Wilson, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. They were in the hospital together, both stricken with cancer. Priscilla was a homemaker. She had a passion for gardening, quilting, bowling, playing cards, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. Jack retired from Liberty Glass, tree services and bail bondsman. He had a passion for fishing, working the lotto, playing cards, and loved telling stories to the grandkids. Both loved spending time with their family, whom they were exceptionally proud of. Jack married Priscilla on November 24, 1956, and raised two children Jack Walter Smith and Julie Elizabeth Upshaw. They were married 56 years. Survivors include daughter Julie and her husband Tom D. Upshaw of San Antonio, Texas; and their children Tommy Wayne, and wife Chera, Upshaw of Ardmore, Okla.; Miles Upshaw of San Antonio, Texas. Son, Jack W. Smith of Sapulpa, Okla.; and his children Zackery and wife Kat Smith of Tulsa, Okla.; and Lauren Smith of Colorado. Great Grandchildren, Little Jack Danger Smith, Jaxon Major Upshaw, and Landree Cross Upshaw. Priscilla is also survived by Sisters Margie Gilliland of Broken Arrow, Ok. Carolyn Reed of Denver, Ok., Rowen Boyer and Rowetta Freese, Esther Nunn of Georgia, and many nieces and nephews. Jack is survived by a brother Paul Smith of Okmulgee, Ok., and nieces and nephews. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Elizabeth (Crawford) Johnson and two Brothers Arthur and Gene Johnson and three sisters Betty Radney, Norma Dill, and Rose Ann Green. Jack was preceded in death by his parents William “Walter” Smith and Lucy S. Smith and two sisters Fern Carpenter and Margret Smith, three brothers, Harley, Hershel and Wendell Smith. They will be loved and greatly missed.
