Obituary of Johnny Ray Carr

Johnny Ray Carr, 67 years old of Kiefer, OK, died May 13, 2015. He was born in Tahlequah, OK on December 24, 1947. Johnny married Judy Carr on February 19, 1982. Johnny is survived by his wife Judy Carr and children: Angie Carr Paluso and husband Tom Paluso of Dallas, Chris Carr and his wife Deana Carr of Kiefer, Corey Carr and his wife Aimee Carr of Kiefer, Jamie Carr Sontag and her husband Kirk Sontag of Kiefer. His grandchildren include Dominick & Daniel Paluso; Payton, Addison, Alston Carr, Jaxon and Sara Zamudio; Michaela, Jessa and Josie Carr; Nicholas, Nathan and Jaylie Sontag. Johnny is also survived by his siblings: Ann Nottingham, Mary Banes, L.W. (Dub) Carr, Bob Carr & Jack Carr and a host of nieces and nephews. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Ethel Viola Wolf and Loy Willis Carr. In 1965, Johnny graduated from Hulbert High School. After graduation, he moved to Mounds with his mother and siblings. Johnny was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1967-1969. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Johnny worked for various construction companies before he opened his own construction business in 1973. In forty-two years, Johnny and his company grew into a successful business that impacted numerous businesses and individuals. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and raising his cattle. He was an active member of the community he loved and generously gave his time and resources to develop the Creek County area. He served for twenty years on the Kiefer School Board and worked tirelessly to support the district and its’ students. A hard working man, Johnny will always be remembered for his generosity, honesty, dedication, and humor. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at the Kiefer event center. Visitation is Friday from 5-8 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to Kiefer Public Schools in Johnny’s name.
