Obituary of Wesley Buel Morris

Wesley Buel Morris, faithful father to four adult children (Jim Morris, Amy Ward, Leslie Millsap and Lonnie Morris), 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, finished his race and entered Heaven's gates on February 19, 2015. He joins his wife (Nancy Morris) who passed away on March 12, 2011. Wesley Buel Morris was born on August 8, 1938, in Red Hill, Oklahoma to Woodrow and Opal Morris. He grew up in the small town of Spelter City and Henryetta, Oklahoma at a time when the nation was recovering from the Second World War. The rural setting and 1950's shaped his future and gave him opportunities to become the man we knew. He was a builder, welder, liked hard work and hot coffee, heavy suits and a welding stinger. He saw the job and never the danger. He was tenacious in the details of his work but challenged with the details of finishing the door trim. Fear was not in his vocabulary when caution should have been. Courage was his ally and adversity fueled his abilities. He loved cars especially his 1940 Ford Coupe and 1960 black Ford truck. He taught generations the art of welding and the determination to never quit. Dad had flaws and gifts but his greatest legacy is the inheritance he left in our lives. He loved God and his family. Proverbs 13:22 "A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,..." 1 Peter 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade." Wesley Buel Morris has finally received the eternal inheritance that never perishes, spoils or fades. He is survived by his adult children and grandchildren and his by his sisters, Gerry Kelsey and Audrey Engles, and his brother, Stan Morris. Services will be at 10:30 Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Green Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-9 pm and Monday from 9 am – 6 pm. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312 / www.greenhillok.com
