Obituary of Kenneth Walter Lovelee

KENNETH WALTER LOVELEE Kenneth Walter Lovelee, 62, of Sapulpa, OK passed away on Sunday, January 25th at 4:30 p.m. Ken was born February 12, 1952 in Niagara Falls, New York to Richard and Elizabeth Lovelee. He resided in Grand Island, NY where he graduated from Grand Island High School. Ken then went on to attend Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, NY where he graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. After graduating, Ken worked for Conoco for 5 years in West Lake, Louisiana. Then he moved to Ashland, Kentucky where he worked for Ashland Synthetic Fuels. In 1983 he moved to Tulsa, OK taking a job with Sinclair Oil Corporation where he held positions in both Operations and Process Engineering. Ken met his wife, Brenda Blubaugh, while they were both employed at the Sinclair refinery. They were married in 1987. In 1991 they had a son, Jacob. In 2009 Ken continued to work at the Tulsa Refinery, which is now Holly Frontier, as a Process Engineer. Ken was involved with WSA Soccer Club starting out as a Manager for his son’s team in 2003. Even after his son’s competitive soccer years were over, his love for the club and helping kids to play soccer lead him to become Registrar and President until 2014. In his younger years he enjoyed sailing. Ken owned many cats and dogs throughout the years. All of his life he was an animal lover and was a supporter of Animal Aid. He was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy novels. Ken was a handy man and enjoyed doing his own repairs at his home. Ken’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Richard. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Hodge of Tonawanda, NY; his sister, Judy Kenyon of Buffalo, NY; his wife, Brenda Lovelee of Sapulpa, OK; his son, Jacob Lovelee of Sapulpa, OK and his nieces and nephews. Viewing will be from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29th at Green Hill Funeral Home, 400 E. Teel Road, Sapulpa, OK. Funeral services will be Friday, January 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the same location.
