Obituary of ELVIS J. LAWSON

Elvis J. “Cotton” Lawson Obituary Elvis J. “Cotton” Lawson went to meet Jesus on Monday, December 1, 2014, after a noble battle with a number of health issues. He was born on December 4, 1929, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Elvis Lawson; and brothers John and Jimmy. He is survived by a loving wife of 58 years, Susan Lawson of Sapulpa; one sister, Cleta Clark of Sapulpa; seven children, Carol Smith and husband Kenneth; Steven Lawson and wife Susan; Connie Shepherd; Julenea Soliday; Tina Johnson and husband Aaron, all of Sapulpa; Pattie Parker of Sand Springs; and Tim Parker of Tulsa. He was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren along with a multitude of other family and friends. Cotton worked as an Aircraft Mechanic the majority of his life and retired from American Airlines in 1989. After retiring he enjoyed spending time outdoors. Cotton loved the mountains and traveling with his buddies, hunting, fishing and keeping the highways hot. He dedicated his life to loving and caring for his family. The family requests your “presents” at Cotton’s home going celebration on his birthday, Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Green Hill Chapel and Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Green and Dickie Parnell officiating. Visitation will be from 9 am until 9 pm on Wednesday. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
