Obituary of LOY Carlene SUNDAY

Please share a memory of LOY to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Loy Carlene Henderson Schumacher Sunday Passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, 11/12/2014, into Jesus’ loving arms and directly to Grandma Hazel’s knees. Loy was the precious daughter of Carl Henderson and Sylvia ‘Loy’ Wortman and Jim Kralik; cherished mother of Schelli Schumacher Pittman of Menasha, Wisc. and Brooke Sunday Brun of Fairbanks, Alaska, and her special title of Grandma to Ethan and Wyatt Brun. Loy also leaves behind, brothers, Carl Henderson Jr and Roger Henderson and two broken hearted sisters, Kari Kralik and Kristi Kralik Howard, also, her sister in spirit, Rhoda and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, way too many to name here, but know, she loved each and every one of you. Loy began her working career at 13 yrs of age at Warsaw, Missouri and never stopped, even during school. While working in Eufaula, Ok, she learned the Creek language, even though she is Cherokee, so she could speak to the elderly Creeks and they could feel good when they came in to the CPA office to pay their rural water bills. While in Eufaula, she wrote a weekly genealogy column called the Melting Pot by Loy Sunday for The Indian Journal Newspaper. She authored the book, “Eufaula: A Pictorial History 1833 – 1993” She attended Connor State college where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After returning to Sapulpa, she taught a genealogy class at Sapulpa Vo-Tech and was head of the genealogy department at the Sapulpa Public Library. She ended her career as payroll bookkeeper for the law offices of Allen Mitchell. Now this little Cherokee has walked on but she will save us all a seat. We will see her again. We will all miss you in our own special way. Your place can never be taken.
